Primitive Skateboards

After leaving Plan B Skateboards, Paul "P-Rod" Rodriguez has been with out a board sponsor for nearly 10 months. He announced earlier this month that he it starting he own board company called Primitive Skateboarding. P-Rod will be the main pro rider for Primitive as well as being joined by Nick Tucker and Brazilian skater Carlos Ribeiro.

Apparently Rodriguez had no plan to start his own skateboard company after parting ways with Plan B back in July 2013: "I was at a point in my career when I wanted to have more ownership of myself, I wanted to be my own boss. Before I even knew what I was going to do, I decided to step away from Plan B without an actual plan. And I figured if I stepped away, that would force me to figure it out and make it happen."

Primitive started out as a skateboard, clothing and skate shoe shop based in Encino, California. The shop was opened back in 2008 by Andy Netkin and Jubal Jones, with Paul Rodriguez as a partner which grew in to their own line of skate clothing.

Primitive Skateboards are due to hit shops in the UK on the 1st of May.
